--> From Europe, some charter airlines have a direct flight (check transportation) - there are many airlines arriving in Caracas with a connection flight to the isle (PMV); last one around 19:00 hr. <--
When to come:
- Low Season: mid-April through mid-July and mid-September through mid-December.
- High Season: mid-July through mid-September and mid-December through mid-April
What to do upon arrival:
- It is extremely important that you confirm your return flight within three days prior departure. Talk on site to Walter's Tours for return confirmations.
- Your flight tickets do not include Airport Departure Taxes in Venezuela; A.D.Tax from Margarita US$ 22 p.p. and US$ 21 p.p. from Caracas.
- Beware of Luggage Porters at Caracas’ International Airport; someone will approach you in English and walk you to Domestic Flights Terminal and ask you then for US$ 20 for him and another US$ 20 for the luggage porter. In Margarita, you probably have in mind to rent a car or take a taxi with a non-english speaking driver. You can find both at the airport. Car rentals are also at major hotels & resorts. In general, the roads are very good and some are excellent. If you like to go on your own, you might experince thrilling moments, although sometimes you are going to wish people spoke more english. But overall, I will suggest our transfer service, at least upon arrival.
- If arrival is by dark, I don't like to encourage you to rent a car because:
- Street signs are not always there -
- Streets are not always lighted -
- Whoever has the biggest car has the right of way -
- It is prohibited to drive under alcohol influence, but ... there is almost no police enforcement checking it out there. Along the roads you will discover many little shrines, that look like doghouses...... this are not; it should remind you and me that someone crashed. (mostly under alcohol influence).
- I have met guest driving a rented car, who ended up getting in the resort after 3 hours of driving.(by night)

- Hilton Suites (Porlamar) - 30 min
- Playa el Agua - 50 min
- El Yaque - 10 min
- I have a VAN SERVICE with double a/c for your transportation to the resort and while driving, you will hear me talking topics about the island and answering your questions.
